Irish fashion designer Louise Kennedy has released her new Autumn/Winter collection for 2019 with several incredible looks that feature an abundance of couture tweed. And not just any tweed, but couture tweed supplied by yours truly!
For her new collection, Louise decided to hone in on the idea of ‘lasting luxury’ and ‘elegant glamour’ of which a strong focal point was on unique fabrics. The collection showcased graphic black and white tweed and other vibrant jewel tones. Stunning images of the collection were shot at the beautiful green gardens of Ballyfin in Co Laois in her native Ireland.
Louise Kennedy was born in Ireland and has been named as the ‘uncrowned queen of Irish fashion’. She established her label Louise Kennedy in 1983 and quickly rose through the ranks of Irish fashion designers and was named Irish Designer of the Year award in 1989 and then again 1990. She is both a member of the British Fashion Council and a regular exhibitor at London Fashion Week.
Over the years, Louise has designed looks for politicians including President Mary Robinson and President Mary McAleese of Ireland. She has also dressed members of the British, European and Middle Eastern royal families and even actresses like Meryl Streep and Anjelica Huston.
We at Linton Tweeds are simply honoured to have been able to provide the beautiful fabrics that helped inspire such a timeless and elegant collection.
