One on one with Warp and Woof Designs and their fabulous bespoke design

Warp & Woof designs are a boutique design service based in Studley, Warwick. It was founded by friends Lisa & Julie who offer a tailored service designing and making bespoke and exceptionally stylish clothing and accessories for you and your pooch.

They originally specialised in skirts, before expanding their range to include gilets, dresses and even jackets. As small business owners, they pride themselves in supporting British industry and using fabrics from British mills like, Linton Tweeds.

After seeing their latest design – a beautiful bespoke dress for a leavers service at Worcester Cathedral – we decided to ask them more about their love of tweed and where their inspiration as designers comes from.

They explained that their fashion inspiration begins when they “fall in love with a fabric and this in turn inspires the design, especially in the case for the Leavers service at Worcester Cathedral.”

As long time clients of Linton Tweeds, they explained that “with Linton tweeds, we feel the fabric has hidden depths and is wonderful to work with when matching up to different textures to complete a look. When we design dynamically with all the demands of the client mixed with the fabric you can produce a garment that is far superior to the majority of what is available on the high street.”

“Our ethos has been to support British fabric manufacturers in our designs, make women feel good and empowered in clothes that are individual, fun and importantly high quality. Making bespoke pieces bring us just as much joy as they do the client, especially when we are asked to embellish to make the item such a stand out piece.”

“We have been using Linton Tweeds from the day we started making bespoke clothes and we love it, it is a huge inspiration for our designs.”

Lisa from Warp and Woof Designs elaborated that “maybe to some Linton tweed is a tricky challenge but we love it, it is so versatile and the possibilities are endless which allows us to produce such unique garments. We love to mix it with other fabrics to elevate its beauty and make it a talking point, who said design should be understated!”

We can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two talented ladies and what they create next!
