We ship 5 days a week (Mon – Fri) and do our best to get orders packed and dispatched within 24 hours from time of order. However, orders placed late on Fridays or over weekends will only be shipped the following Monday.

Payment, Pricing & Promotions
Payment is taken at the time of order via our secure checkout service, which can be made by Visa, Mastercard & Globalpayments. All prices are regularly checked to ensure they are published correctly but from time to time there may be errors beyond our control.
We make use of UPS or DPD (depending on the region) for all fabric deliveries. Yarn and samples may be sent in the post but will always be sent first class.
While we do our utmost best to ensure the speedy and safe delivery of any order, we cannot guarantee the performance of third parties. Please ensure that the contact details (phone number and email address) are correct at time of ordering as these will be used to contact you to inform you of delivery. Please note, we cannot deliver to P.O boxes.
Upon dispatch from our premises, UPS or DPD will email you with a tracking number on the listed email address provided with your order. You can log on to their relevant websites to track your order and see where your order is in the delivery process.
Duties, Taxes and Surcharges
Please note that orders outside the EU may be liable for import duties or taxes. These are usually collected by the relevant couriers. Surcharges may be applied if goods purchased are returned due to non-delivery.

There’s nothing more useful than a beautifully-drafted (by Julien Cristofoli) basic pattern. In a full range of sizes, there are 2 variations to our Straight Skirt Pattern: slightly-pegged with a traditional waistband; and straight with a dropped waistline (perfect for Craftsy’s Guipure Lace skirt class) and an optional self-faced, curved waistband. Ideally suited for our piece dye fabrics and less textured fabrics.

About Susan Khalje: Susan Is one of the foremost educators and practitioners of couture sewing in the world, began her career with professional training at the New York couture salon Chez Cez et Bez and later as a designer on Seventh Avenue. She then established her own wedding dress and evening wear company, Susan Khalje Couture, before focusing full-time on preserving the techniques of couture sewing.
Susan is a contributing editor of Threads Magazine, was honored with The Association of Sewing and Design Professionals’ Lifetime Achievement Award and hosted Sew Much More, which ran for 6 years on HGTV and DIY. In addition to her frequent contributions to Threads Magazine, she has written for every major sewing publication. Her books include the best-selling Bridal Couture: Fine Sewing Techniques for Wedding Gowns and Evening Wear (Krause) and Linen and Cotton: Classic Sewing Techniques (Taunton). She has contributed to The Experts’ Guide to 100 Things Everyone Should Know How to Do and profiled in More Magazine’s 50 Celebrate 50. She has also taught for Craftsy/Blueprint: the extraordinarily successful Couture Dress and Guipure Lace Skirt classes.
She is a charter member of the Association of Sewing and Design Professionals (formerly The Professional Association of Custom Clothiers) and has served as its chairperson. She is a member of The Fashion Group International, The Costume Society of America and was awarded an honorary lifetime membership to the Smocking Arts Guild of America.
Should you want to order a fabric sample, simply click the ‘add sample’ button on any fabric product page. A sample will automatically be added to your basket. Samples are charged at 40p each. You can also purchase a sample pack which features 20 random samples and can be found for sale here.
Due to the nature of our fabrics, we cannot always guarantee fabrics are fully sustainable. However, all wool and cotton used in our fabrics comes from 100% certified sustainable sources. We also use recycled yarns where possible.
Production order start at 50m per quality and production can take up to 12 weeks. Please note that not all fabrics purchased on our website can be remade. Should you want to get a fabric remade, please contact [email protected]
