Linton Tweed is my recommendation for people that attend my French Couture Jacket course and also for all my personal makes. For me, it’s the heritage of the product - all the great couture houses have used Linton Tweed for decades. The quality of the fabric is renowned, but as a maker, the great joy for me is the malleability: it responds beautifully to the use of hams, clappers and pressing tools produce a 'one of a kind garment'. The aesthetic beauty of the fabric also hits the spot, should I be looking for a classic tweed, or something a little more modern, I find it incredibly hard to choose!
